Why nix post counts? I think they're fun. They already spawned one urban legend on here, I'd like to see them spawn more!
Also... eh, good to have you, but damn, we need more artists. Too many writers, not enough artists. Do you know anybody, jbridge, with even a modicum of draw in them?
And FATAL? God help you, you're either a genius or a madman.

First, I've already posted a bunch of links on where to find artists, lest we need more.
Second, despite the large writer: artist ratio, I'm not seeiing huge amounts of scripted material thats going undrawn.
Third, in terms of pure labour and time investment, good draftmanship is just a bigger strain on a person than good writing. You shouldn't really expect an artist to commit to something without at least a script, and if your not paying them, expect to drop a few rungs in priority for whoever crosses their palms with silver.

Good Lord, calm down, Zaxser, you seem so furious all the time. It's okay, man, chill! I was just noting we needed more artists on the site, 'cause I figure a good ratio will work out better in the long run.

Zaxser knows what he's talking about, I also promote the notion of reaching out to different places for artists.

So should we designate an envoy to artist places?

Maybe. Has a good chance of turning into spam. Especially in a place like CA, populated by mainly professionals.
I'd say stick the forum in your sig and hang around if you want to get some attention without pissing anyone off.
I really think that if your an author, you should make your script first, and show it around where artists might see it. Right now, the goals of this group are really vague. So there isn't much to participate in.
If you have a script done, then not only do you actually have something to offer/ attract artists, but also something to do./i]

We are vague like fog... time to fix that.
How much of a script needs to be done/in what formats do most artists prefer it? A general overview of what the writing is about, or an actual play by play?
Any other notes on what a script should be like? When I hear script, I think Shakespeare, and I want to right Exit Stage Left, pursued by a bear...

It could be as complicated or as simple as you want. As general or as specific as you want. It has to be good, though. The idea is, that this is you taking initiative in your own work. As a writer your job is basically to order the artist around . If you don't have money to bribe them with, the best thing you can have is confidence. You have to have a piece of work that you can not only respect as good, but also something that is yours. You wouldn't rather see any other work come to life. I think Dirk Manning wrote a Write or Wrong article about the specifics of script writing. I'll see if I can pull it up for you. This isn't exactly what I was looking for, but this should get you thinking: forum.newsarama.com/showthread.php?t=91867

*pops in* Heya, could I join in? I can do both drawing and writing, though right now I'd prefer to draw right now.
