So I had an idea. One of you should draw it for me. I'll need to flesh it out, but I can do that as I go. Basically, it's a superhero story set in a fictionalized modern world- sort of like the setting for inFamous- and our protagonist is a sort-of antihero/Well-Intentioned Extremist with the somewhat atypical power to Body Surf by making physical contact with someone. He's a fairly decent guy and wants to use his powers for good, and fights crime, but he rarely holds back with his usage of the power. Every time he jumps into a new body, he unintentionally picks up some of the original owner's personality, slowly causing a somewhat fragmented personality, but he doesn't gain their memories unless he was possessing them at the time the memories were created. Naturally, he has a Kryptonite- or rather, his vulnerability is that whatever sort of damage the body he's possessing takes, he retains when he leaves. In addition, he can only possess someone once (kind of like Lelouch's Geass), and while he's in there, the victim is fully conscious and aware of what's going on, and thus capable to fight him off if they're strong enough. Then he fights crime. So in short, superhero fights with extreme Schrodinger Fu by bodyhopping, uses this power to fight crime, but can only do it to a person once. Takers?

That is a crazy power for a HERO. I anticipate awesome.
It's also interesting from a story perspective--not having a set form for your main character. It means everything changes all the time, basically, which is potentially nifty.

Maybe you should give the hero a different speech bubble color or font, to indicate that it's him when he's in another body?

Probably a good idea. I've been working on some concept sketches of him, too, which I should have up this week as a reference.

Where are these sketches of him, exactly? I'm curious.

Hey, Blackmoon are there any other restrictions to the hero's body hopping power? Like for example;
How long can he possess somebody's body? Is there any negative effect for the person being possessed besides getting controlled? Does it tire him out?
Also how did he get his power?

JBridge: My tablet's been broken, lately, so I haven't been able to finish them, but I sort of got one done that I can post. @alk: I wasn't planning on explaining where this power came from, since What's A Secret Four? is my pet trope and all. Time limit is an hour at first, but he gets better with practice; negative side effects are only what he forces his "victim" into; and it only gets a little tiring after frequent uses in a short period, like Nightcrawler's teleportation.

This is my concept pic for him. I was going to do a close-up detail pic on his face but, broken tablet. I'm not wild about his hairstyle. The T-shirt he has on under it is a shirt for the band Negadeth. This man, I suspect, is into rock and roll, heavy metal, video games (especially first-person games and adventure games where you get to possess people, like Wind Waker and Blood Omen), and for some reason, sewing. He wears a black leather glove on his right hand to hide his weird fucked-up demon hand that lets him possess people. I was going to do a detail of that too, but... Attachments:

and it only gets a little tiring after frequent uses in a short period, like Nightcrawler's teleportation. Just a nerdy little aside, but Nightcrawler has an alt-universe daughter named Nocturne( a character in the Exiles books) with this guy's power set. Well she had energy blasts and standard issue low-level agility and nimbleness too. So how do you plan to start to comic? With the hero(lets call him Ted) in the middle of a fight/chase/something dynamic to draw interest? Will there be any How Do I Shot Web on Ted's part(probably not since you want to use What's A Secret Four)?

Actually, the way I was going to start this off was, it would be a story from the point of view of a mook. It's this guy's first big bank heist or something, he's nervous, he's working with these other guys, and we see everything through his eyes- up to and including the part where our "hero" shows up, starts possessing everyone, and kicking everyone's asses. He takes out our narrative character last, and then we go to a more traditional third-person perspective at the end of the chapter as our hero goes about his merry way. I should really think of a name for this guy.
And actually, an even nerdier aside, there's a DC comics character named Deadman who's, unfortunately, almost exactly like this guy when I started writing him. Creative edits were made.
