... I've never really been a 'grown up' in this type of project before; I've just been the airy-fairy daydreamy writer flitting about from idea to idea, never really finishing anything. I have no idea about how to be a moderator or whatever. It's weird. Still, saying you were the editor of a magazine always looks great on a resume.

I've never really been a grown-up. Extra period.

The difference between a grown-up and a child is simply care for other people. Someone who is harsh, tough, no-nonsense, and gives not a damn for another, is still a child on the inside, self-absorbed and vicious; they who dream of butterflies and dandelion gumdrops, but love others, are grown-ups, who understand that nothing else matters.
...Sorry, maturity is a favorite philosophical subject of mine. But eh, I've never done this "professionally", but as you said, saying you were involved in a magazine is kind of impressive!

The whole notion of maturity has been an interesting notion for me. I'm not a teenager, but I don't feel like I deserve to be called a man. There needs to be a better word for that transition state of maturity than twentysomething.
As an aside this is the first forum I've been to that has more mods than regular members.

It's all a bunch of crap. My father and my father's father are just a smart, just as stupid, and fuck up about as often as I do.
The main difference between them and me is that they've accomplished more. Go out and do stuff, and stop worrying about some standard.

That, alkthash, is because we are AWESOME.

I still stick to my previous notion, seeing as the subject of maturity has long been on this philosopher's mind. I've never seen someone I would call 'adult', since all the people that surround me tend to be selfish and weak-minded.
I also agree that we are AWESOME.

Indeed. Also, selfish and weak-minded? You've got yourself a makeshift army of Mooks there if you can convince them to work for you!

I haven't done any projects that are a collaboration, so this is really new to me.

zaxser: Sheesh. Who took the jam outta your donut? I said it felt weird, not that I didn't think I could do it. Were I trying to live up to the standard set by my mother, you'd all think I'd gone nuts; she's one of those hypercompetent, running-the-project-in-all-but-name people, and I am... not.

Judging from previous forum posts of his I've read, zaxser is... somewhat furious most of the time. It's not a case of someone taking the jam from his donut, it's that he never had a donut to begin with!

I smiled a little at that. Reminded me a bit of Niestche's "Some people are born posthumously" rebuttle.
But seriously, I can't manage to garner much rage at anybody here. I'm bored more than anything else.

Aw... boredom's worse than anything. At least with anger you have something to *do*, you know?
How come you're bored?
