This is kinda weird to post here, but I figured "What the hell, lets do it anyway!"
So that's what I'm doing. *shrugs*
Basically, I got an e-mail from an old art school I used to go to. The school is pretty small, and the recession caused them to take a big hit to the students applying, so they still have spaces left for the spring semester. They messaged the alumni to get the word out to people who would do well there.
Which is why I'm posting this here, for everyone to see. *wink-wink, nudge-nudge*
Its a semester-long program for juniors and seniors in high school, and is in Napa, California. It costs a big chunk-'o-money to cover boarding/food/field trips/art supplies/etc., but the program is really awesome. Its project based, has four art studios, a dark room, a computer lab, good food, good teachers, and you cap off the semester with an entire month to dedicate to your final project, which can be whatever the hell you want it to be.
I managed to get in without paying any money, because I was poor as all hell when I applied, but I'm not sure if that's still true now - especially since this is way past the original deadline. It won't hurt to e-mail them and ask about it if you want to know for sure, though.
Oh, and you DO NOT HAVE TO BE AN ARTIST. You're acceptance won't be judged on how good you are at drawing stuff - you just have to prove that you're willing to be creative.
You can find out more here.
Also, I was thinking of posting this directly to TVTropes, but I'm not sure if it's a good idea or not. So I'm also wondering on people's thoughts on that, even if none of you can really apply.
