Organization Restructure?

It saddens me to say this, but things need to change here. Now, now, this is no indictment, and I'm not mad, I'm just stating some facts.

For one thing, let's face it, I am a terrible leader. Can't network, can't organize anyone; hell, I forgot tonight was our deadline until I got the latest page of HGC.
As such, I'm resigning from that position. I'd be willing to help pick a new, uh, head honcho, as it were, but I don't think I'm qualified to fill those shoes. I'll stick around to contribute art (pfft, as if, I'm a lazy ass and we all know it), do the uploading and maintenance stuff, and send out info once in a while, but that's about all I can do, I think.

Two, we need more people. Possibly many more. All we really get is the occasional Obake update, a bit of writing from JBridge, and a page or two of HGC a month. This isn't a bad thing, and I realize most people here are busy with their own lives, but we need a bit more output; more people may or may not help with that.

To continue on from that point, I think it may be prudent to excise from our member list those who haven't contributed or visited the forum in at least a month or two. This'll cull a lot of people who aren't members in anything more than name, and prevent me from spamming the inboxes of people who really don't care with info on the group's activities-- just a matter of professional courtesy, I suppose.

If we're all agreed on this- what few of us there are to agree- then I suppose that's that. Hopefully this'll be a turning point for us- for the better.

I agree, I guess. I don't know what we'll do to fill the leader role, but- *shrugs* We've been doing better than most collaborative groups on the internet, IMO.

On finding people, this might be a good time to mention that I totally forgot about the whole advertising for artists thing on the #tropers deviantart group, so, err, at least that option is still open. >.>;

Oh, also -- every once in a while, there will be people in Writer's Block trying to partner up and start webcomics. We might be able to get some content by pimping ourselves to the people in those topics. Until the forum is alive with more new blood though, it might be best to offer ourselves up as a place for tropers to publish their work instead of a place for finding people to collaborate with.

Oh, and may I just take this opportunity as a little side-note to say, Dec, I am endlessly thankful for all the work you put in for this group. I don't think it'd be a stretch to say you're one of our most valued contributors, and I'm quite glad to have you aboard. You make me look bad. XD

I do have to give some major props to Mr. Cales and Dire, though -- they've both been doing a pretty damn good job of writing and drawing for HGC for the past two months, and they're actually quite a few pages ahead of me. Hopefully once I'm done worrying about college, we'll all be synced and everyone can start seeing what we're really capable of. Its gonna be exiting. ;D

Hell yeah. I have to agree- all three of you are doing a great job.

I'd offer myself as the leader, but I don't think I could handle the responsibility. However, I guess I'll take the title if nobody else thinks they're up to the job. If.

Also, we do need some new blood. Maybe one of us could write up a blog post on the DA page?

Edit: Another idea. Maybe we could have weekly brainstorming sessions or something? IRC would be a good place to hold it.

JBridge has a good idea, but I'd hold off on it until we get new blood. Advertising must be done first. We really, really, *really* need to advertise. Otherwise, we are hosed.

No way we'll get more people if we don't advertise!

As for the brainstorming sessions, we could just talk about our various projects. Whatever needs work at the moment should take first priority.
