Possibly lame idea, but we do have more writers bouncing around than artists, and it kinda seems silly to let that creative input go to waste. Perhaps we could throw in something like a Prose Pen(lame suggested name is lame) where any short stories the writers here have worked on and submitted to be be included in the monthly release.

I second this idea. There is a danger we'll end up being known more as a literature 'zine than a comic 'zine, but there's also the chance we'll be able to use the short story section as a way to gauge what an audience likes/doesn't like, and therefore decide what kind of comics we should be focusing on.
Also, I personally think Prose Pen is a great name XD

I think that, with a month until the first deadline, everyone should post their goals for the projects and a general progress report. That way, they have something definite to work towards and everyone else kind of has an idea about how much to expect and how much they need to put out.
My goal is at least 4 pages. I have one already done.
Also, are we doing colored or no?

I'd rather do coloured, but I can go either way. I wonder where Haven went, though.

My goal is also a page a week. Uncolored. I don't do color well.

Yeah, my stuff doesn't look good when it's not colored, mostly because of my style.
Who's doing the first cover art?

I'd offer to do our first cover, but I have a feeling it wouldn't make a good impression if the first page of our first issue looked like shit...

If it gets to, like, the week before the deadline and no cover art, I'll take control.

I've been meaning to do a nice big picture of Sasaki Kojiro. I think my style of coloring and stuff fits cover art. I still think that others should submit though, and then we vote the week before the first volume is compiled.

If someone ends up in Prose Pen due to not finding an artist, do they have a chance to ever find an artist for that certain story if that was what they really wanted to do? Because it might be awkward to print the same story twice, even if it's illustrated once.

Personally, I don't think it would be awkward at all. Comics and prose are such different mediums that both stories would be interesting in their own right.
